This is an interesting perspective. I’m curious how this applies in college, where the students are more or less adults and somewhat there of their own volition. I teach a couple of classes at the master’s level, and I feel like I am a fairly easy grader. Very rarely do I have a student fail, and I don’t give many C’s. Typically to get less than a B, the student doesn’t do all the work, turns in 3 pages of a 10 page paper, or has an academic integrity issue.
